- Hair Hub provides a compilation of styling tutorials, educational content, planning tools and a comprehensive database of products tailored for Black hair to provide resources for users to perform cost-efficient DIY haircare.
- xMAD.ai is a compression-as-a-service platform that democratizes access to LLMs (Large Language Models) by making them faster, more private, cost-effective and accessible to businesses of all sizes.
Ventures
Established in 2012, OwlSpark was founded to ignite a passion for entrepreneurship within the Rice community. The impact of OwlSpark has built an ecosystem for entrepreneurs to connect and venture teams to launch. Since 2013, 204 founders have launched 97 ventures. OwlSpark grew in 2022 with the launch of "BlueLaunch" the additional accelerator to provide tailored support for the non-tech, small businesses and focuses on customer development and business models.
In 2024, both accelerators were combined into one, the OwlSpark Startup and Small Business accelerator, with two tracks. Much of the cohort will be run together, but tailored content and training will be provided to each track.
