Vice President Ventures, ExxonMobil Low Carbon Solutions
Ed is Vice President of New Assets for ExxonMobil Low Carbon Solutions. He joined ExxonMobil in 1989 after receiving his bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering from Rice University in Houston, Texas. He spent the first 10 years of his career with Exxon Production Research Company in a variety of upstream oil and gas technical positions. The following 10 years of his career involved oil and gas operations and project manager assignments across North America. In 2013, Ed was appointed Vice President for ExxonMobil Iraq Limited. He oversaw the development and production of Iraq's world-class West Qurna I oilfield outside Basra, growing production to over 500,000 barrels per day. In 2017 Ed became President of ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Malaysia Inc., overseeing ExxonMobil's business interests in Malaysia. With the formation of Low Carbon Solutions in 2021, Ed moved into his current assignment which focuses on building the company’s new business opportunities across the globe in hydrogen, carbon capture and storage, and other opportunities as they emerge.
