Hisanori Nei
Professor, GRIPS
Prof. Hisanori Nei has joined the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) in 1981 after graduating from University of Tokyo at Faculty of Science major in Geology .
After working at various deputy director positions, he spent his time at Houston Texas, U.S.A. as Executive Director of JETRO Houston from 1997 to 2000.
At that time he had worked as members of advisory board at the IC2 in University of Texas, Houston Technology Center and STARTEC Venture at the Richardson Texas.
He is also one of the founding members for Houston Technology Center.
He also had supported at least 20 start-ups in Texas to make successful business contracts with Japanese Firms. He also had worked at ORHA or CPA in Iraq after the war on 2003 as one of the three Japanese first dispatched diplomats to support all the effort of Iraq reconstruction. When Tohoku off- Pacific Earthquake hit the Fukushima-Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, he worked as the head of nuclear regulator and performed the single contact with U.S. mission. April 2012 to June 2014, he worked as President, at Japan National Oil ,Gas and Metals Corporation. June 2014, he has become Professor of GRIPS.
