John Jeffers

John Jeffers is a strategic energy innovator and angel investor with diverse technical, leadership and entrepreneurial experience in upstream energy and technology. Through a three-decade career with ExxonMobil, Schlumberger and Southwestern Energy, John learned about the complexities and challenges of existing global energy systems and developed a deep passion for solving the triple challenge in energy – availability, affordability and sustainability. Since leaving the corporate world in 2020, he has invested his personal energy in supporting several energy technology startups as a mentor and advisor, and frequently engages with entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, incubators and accelerators. He is a co-founder of Houston-based Revolution Turbine Technologies. John earned bachelors and masters degrees in geosciences from Dartmouth College and Rice University, completed executive business education at Southern Methodist University, and earned a Black Belt in Innovation Engineering from Eureka Ranch. He is an occasional guest lecturer in intrapreneurship at the UH College of Technology, a guest lecturer in Geosciences at Rice University, and a liaison to the recently launched Arthur J. Irving Institute for Energy and Society at Dartmouth College.
