Ben York is the Applications Manager at the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), where he leads a team that delivers tailored consulting engagements to help utilities navigate the changing electric grid. Their work brings EPRI’s global research and field experience to bear on clients’ toughest challenges — through rigorous studies, strategic guidance, and field demonstrations of emerging technologies.
Over more than a decade at EPRI, Ben has guided utilities across the United States and around the world on issues ranging from grid modernization strategy and large-load integration, to microgrid design, distributed energy resources, and the field validation of new grid technologies. He holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech.
