RedShift is a startup that is developing a patented plasma chemistry platform technology that converts waste and problematic gases like hydrogen sulfide in the oil and gas value chain into useable products like hydrogen and syngas. At small scale upstream, the technology reduces the cost of producing from high sulfur reserves, while at refineries, it can recover hydrogen at scale and, where the cost of electricity is less than 6 cents a kilowatt, under a dollar per kilogram. RedShift has been supported by the National Science Foundation and the Department of Energy.
