Omar Abou-Sayed

Omar Abou-Sayed's 25+ year career spans the global energy, chemicals, oilfield services, and clean tech industries. He has worked in a variety of engineering, business, and leadership roles within super major oil companies, management consulting firms, private equity funds, and venture-backed startups. He is a serial entrepreneur, having founded two VC/PE backed businesses. He currently serves as Founder and Executive Chairman of Advantek Waste Management Services, a private equity-backed industrial waste management company. He also serves as co-founder and Executive Chairman of Vaulted Deep, a VC backed carbon removal company. Both companies apply patented deep well injection techniques which enable the emplacement of contaminated and carbon emitting materials into the deep earth where they remain trapped outside of the ecosphere forever. He also advises or has invested in nearly a dozen early-stage companies and venture funds, and was a 2022-2023 SPE Distinguished Lecturer in Entrepreneurship. Omar holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, and an MBA from the Harvard Business School, and is on the faculty of the Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University.
