Muss Akram
Vice President, Utility Strategy, CenterPoint Energy
Muss is the Vice President of Utility Strategy at CenterPoint Energy, where he is responsible for future growth of the electric and gas businesses. His role encompasses understanding how elements like technology evolution, export markets, population trends, and industrial development impact the company and how the company can proactively serve the energy demand created by those elements. He is also responsible for the energy efficiency teams for all of its operating geographies.
Muss joined the company in September 2023. Prior to joining CenterPoint Energy, Muss was a management consultant advising electric and gas utilities around the United States on strategy and transactions. Muss has been involved in many utility transactions representing more than $85B of deal value, including CenterPoint’s acquisition of Vectren.
He holds a BS in Chemical Engineering and BA in International Relations from Syracuse University and a MEng in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University. Muss serves on the Syracuse University College of Engineering Dean’s Advisory Board and is also the founder of Syracuse’s Engineering Meets Business program.
