Laura Neder
Head of Platform
As Head of Platform at the Rice Alliance, Laura leads the Advantage Platform, building the networks and partnerships that help founders and investors accelerate and commercialize companies through the Ion and Houston’s innovation ecosystem.
Laura is an experienced startup executive with a track record of scaling health tech ventures. She previously served as CEO of CareSet and COO of 2nd.MD, a telemedicine platform acquired by Accolade. She began her career as an energy trader at BP and serves as an advisor and board member to several organizations.
A dedicated community builder, Laura helped launch Health 2.0 Houston and has supported digital health programming for SXSW. Her work has contributed to public data initiatives used by organizations including The Wall Street Journal, ProPublica, and the White House COVID-19 data dashboard.
Laura earned her MBA with honors from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and holds a bachelor’s degree from Rice University, where she was a member of Will Rice College.
