Holly DeArmond is the Executive Director of the Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers (GCEC), Rice Alliance serves as the global headquarters for the organization. In this role, she serves as the “CEO” of the GCEC and is responsible for the success of the organization in its mission to support university entrepreneurship programs in the U.S. and around the world. This includes activating the Advisory Board, strategic planning, growing revenues, and expanding the offerings to the 250-plus GCEC member universities. Previously, Holly was the Managing Director of the Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Maryland (UMD) where she led the Center in its mission to educate, equip and empower students to grow their entrepreneurial mindset and launch ventures. Before entering higher education, she held positions in marketing and public relations helping clients increase brand awareness among desired stakeholders. She received an MBA from UMD’s Robert H. Smith School of Business and a B.S. in Communications from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
