Call for Presenters:  Early Stage Energy and Clean Technology Companies

The Rice Alliance is currently seeking applications from energy and clean technology companies to present at this exciting, one-day event.  This forum represents networking and learning opportunities for entrepreneurs, investment professionals, business executives, and researchers serving the energy and clean tech industry.

Who should apply?

• Alternative, clean or sustainable energy
  (renewable, alternative, energy storage, energy efficiency & intelligence, water purification, recyclable materials)
  
• O&G exploration and production
  (sub-surface visualization, well construction & automation, automated production operations, processing facilities, tools)
  
• O&G refining and marketing
  (including chemical and plant operations)
  
• Electricity and power generation
• Energy storage, transportation, efficiency or conservation
• Environmental remediation
• Software applications for the energy/clean tech industry
  

There are three categories in which life science technology companies may apply to participate:

1.  Elevator Pitch Presenter

Up to 50 companies will be selected to give a 90-second elevator pitch.
 
2.  Business Plan Presenter

Five companies will be selected to give a 10-minute business plan presentation and receive feedback from an venture capital panel.
 
3.  Showcase Company

Up to 40 companies will be selected to participate in this trade-show style event (featuring table-top displays) during the closing reception.

How do I apply?

Send an electronic version of your NONCONFIDENTIAL, executive summary to tvforum@rice.edu, no later than Friday, August 8, 2008. There is no fee to apply and no affiliation with Rice University is required.  However, companies selected to present will be required to pay a $75 admission fee.  This fee includes admission to the event for one company representative and participation in the Company Showcase.

Suggested guidelines for preparing your Executive Summary can be found here. Companies will be selected by an independent Screening Committee who will base their evaluations on the content of your NONCONFIDENTIAL executive summary.
